Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

City:Albion State: ILLINOIS                                                  


 

Monitor and evaluate product and processes for purposes of development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance systems & tools in support of customer and Company requirements.

  1. Represents the quality department in the product development system to provide leadership and assistance to ensure that quality standards are maintained.
  2. Assist in the collection and analysis of data to drive continual improvement. (Data examples include scrap, customer quality concerns, process capability, dimensional layouts, gage reproducibility and repeatability studies, warranty analysis, etc.)
  3. Assists in reviews and management of all measurement equipment for the plant and may calibrate equipment. May also perform dimensional inspections and run the humidity chamber.
  4. Assists in training activities for operators and other operations/manufacturing personnel and provides follow up of operator training program for validation purposes.
  5. Assists in the review of Standardized Work Instructions.
  6. Attends the applicable plant daily accountability meetings, as needed, in order to participate and provide feedback of internal quality concerns, scrap, and customer quality concerns.
  7. Conducts a periodic review of Process Product Records and provide feedback to the applicable line Supervisors.
  8. Reviews daily production quarantined parts per the assigned plant.
  9. Assists in monitoring assigned plant bond room areas in regard to containment, sorting, and disposition of suspect and nonconforming parts.
  10. Assists in containment activities involving internal sorting and stock checks of suspect product/nonconforming product.
  11. Periodically conducts process capability studies, measurements of parts, and gage repeatability and reproducibility studies using applicable measurement gages and equipment.
  12. Represent first point of contact for new hires as the Quality representative in classroom and on-the-job training.
  13. Coordinate and supervise completion of Quality training and awareness exams with follow-up in the development of new and current employees.
  14. Perform measurement gage training and assessments across designated plants for operators completing product and process quality checks.

Performs other duties, as needed.

Job Requirements

Education:      

Associate Degree in related field or equivalent in education and experience would be beneficial.

 

Experience:     

Two years experience in technical or manufacturing field.

 

Communication: 

Good oral and written communication skills to produce written technical reports and verbally communicate at varying levels within the company.

 

Administration:

Proficient in MS Office software, including charting

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work priorities

 

Interpersonal Relations:

Build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of people

Promote cooperation with projection of positive behavior

Ability to train inexperienced individuals

 

Analytical and Conceptual:

Use logic and appropriate methods to solve problems with effective solutions

 

Special Skills: 

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality systems

 

Dependability - Must be able to maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct.
