Job Title: Buyer II

City:Canton State: OHIO                                                  



Responsible for coordinating the tactical procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment and supplies for the organization, beginning with the intent-to-purpose through delivery.


  • Analyzes the demand requirements related to procurement of components and places orders as system identified for the date components are needed.
  • Maintains PO needed dates, promised dates and quantities to ensure vendor performance can be measured correctly, ensuring factory planning and operations know when all parts will be available. 
  • Manage suppliers identified by strategic purchasing and approved to buy from.
  • Tactical management of suppliers and purchase orders.
  • Implements and executes purchase orders that comply with Strategic purchasing advice and direction and that complies with company and governmental regulations.
  • Assures that the components are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price and meets the quality standards of the company.
  • Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
  • Coordinates appropriate methods needed to distribute components in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain and update master data as it pertains to purchasing fields (lead time, vendor information, safety stock and planning drivers). 
  • Manage the global OEM supply chain for the Pumps organization.
  • Manage supplier relationships.
  • Maintain good internal relationships within the organization.
  • Root-cause analysis of issues when they arise.  Must understand practical problem solving.
  • Help drive process improvements/continuous improvements.

REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Certifications, Skills)

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Business Administration or other relevant degree
• Min. 3 to 5 years Purchasing experience, combined with a demonstrated track record of accomplishments Excellent PC skills
• Knowledge of MS Office and Oracle Self-starter with
• Ability to work within teams Knowledge of ERP systems

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics or other related field 
  • Min. 3 to 5 years Purchasing experience, combined with a demonstrated track record of accomplishments
  • Strong understanding of commodity management
  • Excellent PC skills, including knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Self-starter with the ability to work within teams
  • High degree of organization and multi-tasking abilities
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, Oracle knowledge preferred
